When researching our pool, before any planning or building started, one of the items we wanted to incorporate was a swimming current. This current would need to be strong enough for our own powerful dogs but also the current would need to be variable for others.
Looking at various options here in the UK we came to the conclusion that nothing fitted our brief.
We turned to Veterinary surgeons and animal hospitals in the US to find what they used and this is where we came up with the idea of an Endless Fastlane. The swimming machine has two parts: a remotely located hydraulic power unit that powers the swim current and the swim unit that mounts in the pool. These components are connected by two hydraulic hoses designed to keep electricity far away from the water. The poolside swim unit includes a submerged hydraulic motor that turns the custom-designed 16″ propeller and an innovative channeling system that straightens the water making a beautiful smooth swim current.
The machine will not be switched on for all dogs and will be used when we feel it is necessary.
Whilst many Fastlanes are being used by swimmers, triathletes and even horses outside of America. We, according to the manufacturers, are this first to offer this facility in a canine hydrotherapy environment in the UK.
